Thirteen lined Ground Squirrel

Terry and I went touring on one bright sunny Sunday.. ended up visiting the Humphreys house.. really wish I could have seen it when it was open to tourists!

As we were walking around, Terry spotted this little guy - A Thirteen lined Ground Squirrel!!

He sat there and squeeked at it to get its attention, and it came right up to us!

Beautiful little guy! and the first I had seen!

We have had quite a few storms lately..  However, the clouds have been amazing to see!

New Camera!! - Nature Up Close!

So, I got a new camera! A Point and shoot that has this awesome Macro setting...  went out and found these little tiny mushrooms!! (Yes, TINY)

This is an upclose view of lilac blooms...

Great Horned Owl - Up close

So, I got this awesome new camera.. not a big one, but one that lets me do this -

This is a Great Horned Owl that a friends son found injured on the side of the road.. She had it until she could bring it in to a wildlife vet.  On the other side of chicken wire, My big camera had a bit of difficulty to focus..

KItty Cat Monday - Pams Cats

Of Course I cannot go ANYWHERE without taking pictures of cats.. SO when I went to visit Pams house, I just had to take picture after picture of her beautiful kitty cats! (Forgive me, but I forget their names!!!)

 On one of my random drives, I came across what looked to be an apple tree.. filled with Cedar Waxwings who were ripping off the blossoms and eating them!!

While the male tends to hang around, the female seems to be quite a bit more skittish..
