Up In the Night Sky...

Awhile ago, I tried to get some star pictures.. I ended up with some pretty cool star trail pictures, but it wasnt quite what I wanted... So, I went online, did some research, and the next nice night... I got these of the Milky Way...

A power pole shines against the ambient light..

This pumpjack was a black spot in the pitch black night... until the light came through on the camera..

And  a couple nights later, we had an amazing moon!

A Long Drive Home...

So, Back on the road home.. I got to see all kinds of awesome stuff!!

Driving down the road, we spotted THESE - a little flock of Sandhill Cranes walking down the road!! Very awesome.. a couple juvs in the group too..

Lots and lots of gulls, everywhere we went..

Filled with BIRDS!! Birds that were so far away, this was the best i was able to get...

Also spotted - Black Capped Chickadee, Chipping Sparrow, Common Mergansers, Yellow Rumped Warbler, American Pipit, Pelicans, Great Blue Heron, Shoveler, and a long billed shorebird (dowitcher?)

Of course we had a couple extra hours, and went back to point pelee..

Among other warblers, we spotted (briefly) this Magnolia

and an American Redstart _Edit- Apparently this is a BLACK THROATED BLUE WARBLER!!! not a redstart!! Thanks Guy Wapple for spotting this!!

Then, were the BUGS.. Cicadas everywhere!!

and lots of little butterflies..

I thought this was a cicada, but now im not sure..

Other Birds Spotted - Great Crested Flycatcher, Chestnut sided warbler, an unknown warbler (thought to be Wilsons), Warbling Vireo, Eastern Wood Pewee, Eastern Phoebe, Gray catbird, and a flycatcher..

Playful Kitten!!

Terry had play time with the kitten, while I got to take pictures..

Got to find some awesome flowers and bugs on the drive..

These roses were in a roadside stop around midnight.. the flash brightened them up!

Found these two moths in a parking lot of a gas station.. somewhere..
