When is a Hawk not a Hawk?

So, there I was, driving down the road when I spotted it... Brown and white.. HAWK!!! I stealthily come back... and take a few shots.. Only to discover... a clump of dirt... and snow...



Seemed obvious from a different angle..

      I call them Snow Mushrooms.. thats what most of them look like.. White bottoms and brown tops.. this one just threw me .
