Beautiful Wings

FINALLY! After seeing these guys flit and flutter by me for weeks, I found a few of them on a Lilac bush!  They were too busy drinking to pay much attention to me..




I Believe this little guy is a Snowberry Clearwing Hummingbird Moth! This one wasn't that big, about the size of a large bumblebee, and incredible to watch!

  1. Beautiful -- that swallowtail is calendar-worthy! Love the hummingbird moth. I only discovered them by accident this year when when I was watering the porch petunias one night. Fascinating creatures!

    1. Which Swallowtail? LOL..
      this guy was a tiny little thing, about the size of a bumblebee.. I know they get quite a bit larger as well..
