Snowy Cats

So, with all the snow we have.. the logical thing to see next.. is Snowy Cats!!
I present, the newest round of unhappy Snowy Kitties!!

Notice the technique of having the back paws on a branch? This is to limit snow contact.. Smart Kitten!

This one isnt too sure about this!!

Look at the size of that paw!!

In the snow you find.. Snowy Animals!!

As you might have seen, we got hit with quite a bit of snow this weekend... (and some chilly temps too!)... So I figured, the best thing to do was.. go for a nice, hour long walk in the snow!!
The faithful companion soon turned back... Think she was muttering something about dumb humans..

But! I found this adorable little Downy woodpecker!! He was flitting from tree to tree.

SO tiny!! and fast! and cute!!

After the woodpecker flew away, I decided to visit the kitty!
This look here is him saying "Are you NUTS? You want me to go in this crap for pictures?" So I then left him alone..

Then, our beloved Pheasant made an appearance! As you could guess, food is a little scarce under a foot of snow.. so we supplied him with a pot of rolled oats and corn... didnt take him long to figure that out!

And more snow today.. I think I shall soon go for a walk in it.. (bringing the camera of course)

White Crowned Sparrow

I thought it would be kinda cool to show some of the birds we have around here.. The first one up is the White Crowned Sparrow!! These guys migrated through here in September!

Isn't this a little cutie?? This is a Juvenile White Crowned..

Another Juvenile! These juveniles were not shy at all! Came pretty close to me!

This is the Adult white crowned... These guys were much harder to photograph.. but isn't he gorgeous!?!?

Pictures and More - Introducing Bella!!

The Past few days started normal! Gorgeous weather, Sunshine! (No snow!!)..

Our lord Pheasant returned.. Although after being chased by my cat (s) and me (I was actually chasing the cat.. dont know if he sees it as such though), I dont know if he will return...

Today started normal.. Brought my co-workers very lovely kitty home to the farm.. Introducing Bella!! Shes making herself right at home in the kitty shed! I hope shes happy there!

Err... Maybe not.. LOL.. Will have to give her some time to settle in!

The day ended with a very long kitty search (kitten went missing, on the night a huge snow storm is supposed to hit....)  We emerged Victorious over the kitten!!

Things you find ...

Went for a nice drive to Virden, MB... On the way home spotted these guys painted onto some hay bales! Next to them were a row of bales that said OOOOO!  (Guess they were missing their B).

Yesterday, took a nice long walk in the morning... Had a tag-along come with me.. then pretend he wanted nothing to do with me...

While out for our walk, discovered these lovely tracks.. Coyote methinks?

And while out doing some target practice, spotted this lonely broken egg on the top of an old fridge!

A Grouse, an Eagle and a Chickadee appear on a Blog..

This lovely Ruffed Grouse (Red) we found while heading to Virden, MB.. Just sittin on the road.. was in no hurry..

Got off the road, and this lovely ruff popped up! so cute!!

Another shot of yesterdays Bald eagle sighting..

And A Black Capped Chickadee!! (this one is sporting some awesome chest feathers)

This little one was sticking his tongue out.. dont think it was impressed!

And then I was getting peeped at! Such an awesome bird!!

Eagles abound!

We have had quite the number of eagles around lately ( I spotted 4 Juvs, and at least one adult).. While going through my pictures of what I thought were just Bald Eagles (Juveniles), I noticed that one looked a bit odd! Notice the one on the left?

What that is, is a Golden Eagle!! another Juvenile.. he seems to be scaring the baldies off..

Golden Eagle dont give a dang!

This is one of the Bald Eagles.. Gorgeous bird! This one sat there for awhile, letting me get quite close!

Now I need to go back out and see if I can find the Golden again!
