Snowy Sunday

Went out on Sunday and had a nice walk in the snow..
The trees all covered in the white stuff makes it feel like christmas!

This kitty cat has become rather portly, and very very furry!! I'm pretty sure I was a lot colder then he was!

Snow Covered Kittens

We got Snow!! Our first Bigger snowfall.. and.. we got to introduce the kittens, to the joys of snow!! For some reason, I dont think they were thrilled!

They were trying to resume their stalking training..

Unfortunately, they had a master of a teacher..
Somebody's Gonna get a hurt... (sorry couldn't resist)

After Lesson One, they decided it wasnt quite as fun as they thought..

So, they decided to try Tree Climbing!!.. Then they got stuck..

Then they decided they would just play in the snow by itself!

After awhile, they decided that wasnt fun either.. Notice the back paw held carefully out of the snow..

So I led them to the kitty house, and gave em treats... Think they were happier there.. lol

Bald Eagles and Buntings! - Nov 3rd Wildlife Report

Todays Wildlife report - Mr and Mrs Pheasant are still around (or so I've been told), I then spotted this gorgeous Bald Eagle, who decided what the two ravens had, was more exciting then what he had.

He Chased this one for awhile (Also had two juveniles nearby)

See? A Juvenile!! (Aint he cute, in a non bald eagle way?) There were two of em with the adult.

We continued on our way (I had roped terry into coming with me by then), and we spotted a trio of these gorgeous Sharp Tailed Grouse (Shes making sure its still sharp)

Then, came across this Adorable little one! a Snow Bunting!!

Adorable, until you see the flock of hundreds of them dive bombing your head.. Okay, kind of still cute..

Also saw a flock of these Rusty Blackbirds..

Then, Ken comes in with a report of Moose!! Alive Moose!! So out I go.. and I spot this lovely little one!!

Watched him walk over.. and join his Twin, and Momma!! A Cute Family Photo!

Also Spotted, but not photographed was a Coyote, a couple more moose (and a pair of hunters.. very sad)..House Sparrows and Magpies!

Thankful for Kitties!

This is take 2 on my Halloween Pumpkin trial (on Halloween Day!!)... Didnt work out so well for me.. they shunned my poor pumpkin

This is a spazzed out kitten on a trampoline.. he was hilarious!! hopping about with this madly fuzzy tail whipping back and forth..

I gave up and just put the pumpkins NEAR him... he was not impressed..

This was yesterday.. after harassing my poor Pheasant, he tried to act nonchalant and pretend to be a tree..

Snowy days with Pheasant

Today, we got snow.. about 2 inches so far... Yet our Mr. Pheasant didnt let that stop him!! He was out there for a chow down..

Yes, that is a frozen ear of corn hes dug up.. going to town on that thing!

Once again, he didnt seem to mind the camera at all!

What He DID object to (quite loudly I may add), was my faithful birding companion who ventured a wee bit too close!!

In Cat Vs. Pheasant.. Kitty ran away with his tail between his legs (metaphorically speaking.. he actually pretended he was just there to dig a hole... nothing to see, nothing at all)

A Redpoll type day

We had a new yard visitor join us on halloween.. Common Redpolls!! They are adorable little flying balls of energy! If you can get em to stay still, this is what they look like:

They didnt do much but hang around all day..

And yes, our pheasant is still around.. this time he was patrolling the yard, didnt seem to mind the camera too much!
